Songs are an important part of ours lives~
Hypnotizing us with their words
Like sending us on mini vacations
Allowing us to travel to another world
where we can escape and get lost
Re-living past memories
Or creating new beginnings
A place where there are no worries or priorities
Just pure freedom
And as we listen-
we are soothed & relaxed
by their rhythm
And in a few precious minutes
our lives are changed forever
And the singer’s voice-
though intoxicating, at times
Can caresses you like…
A soft delicate touch or a cozy sweater
So comforting~
That, as you concentrate intensely on every word
It seems like the song was written…
Just for You

Beautiful, I love it!
Dear Jenn-
You never cease to amaze me-
Beautiful job-
I love the way songs play such an important role in our lives and can evoke so many emotions and memories-
Regi.
Thanks Piper and Regi--your comments mean alot to me and keeps me going on :)!!
beautiful!
it's so true, songs play a big role in my life, too and it's always amazing to see how they can change everything in only 3 minutes.
Exactly Tamara-right on! Thanks for the great comments!
Yet more proof that VDO fans are intelligent and talented. He should feel proud to inspire admiration (not to mention lust) in such exceptional women!
Wow! That's a great poem and great way to describe how songs touch us. So many songs, esp. from the 70's and 80's bring back tons of memories!!! Even now, "Bittersweet Symphony" reminds me of my trip to Vancouver last summer.
Lovely sentiment and poem, Jenn. You have a way with words... and many other gifts, too.
thanks Val, JoJo & Tiber, for all your kind words!! Much appreciated!!
I have no idea how anyone can't relate to at least one piece of music (but I've known some in that category!). Wondeful Jenn, well done.
Beautiful Jenn, and it couldn't be more true.
Sorry, this took sooo long...Thanks Tess and Diane for you kind words...
much appreciated
This is so beautiful! I never comment here, but I love reading your work; you have inspired me to write one for you:
It is simply
all about patience
Like lighting a candle from the middle
and my mother told me
(just today on a visit)
never to fall asleep with candles burning
and I thought
God, if she only knew
that fire was the slightest of my fears
and that soon I would be afraid of the light
and not the dark
feeling I am
a fourth, fifth then sixth match...
striving to light myself underwater
Surfacing for a shallow breath
and diving again.
I have always lived in this dark place..My life was a dying empty space, my words were filled with sadness always, i never experienced love and joy. Youve brought me back from this place of despair and all i can do is love you and care..My emotions are as deep as the ocean floor, and puppies you left me outside of my door..They snuggle and cuddle its something i needed i cant help this feeling it feels so repeated, so off i will go now always thinking of you, your my friend forever jenn I LOVE YOU!!!!
To: "A Life in Fragments" and "Rainpebbles"--I am *blushing* with pride & that I touched you two so much, thanks for the beatuiful poems and sentiment. They both made me cry. Can you two tell me who you are sometime, would love to know something about you!
Thank you all for sharing such wondeful words-what talented people we have here-
How beautiful-
Regi.
and
just then,
as I was afraid
my mother might not always
love me,
you were preoccupied
with untying my softening boat
into the lake, the stream,
any water that might steal me away...
I should've been afraid
of spiders and snakes
and other hurts I can touch
I guess the sunset,
now three hours old,
must have captured your eyes,
because I believe
that is the only place
they can ever
truly be
Wow how beautiful-very creative people here-
Jenn-
you should post some of your other photos here also, not only those of Vincent-would love to see them-
Regi.
